Niagara United Vision, Inc., is a 501 (c) (3) Community Development non-for-profit organization that serves communities in Niagara Falls. Niagara United Vision, Inc., advocates for social injustice within the community. So far we have fought for the building of a community park on the north end of the city; founded the "Juneteenth Scholarship Banquet and Ball", where all participants were awarded college scholarships between $2000.00 and $5000.00; and in 2022, Niagara United Vision, Inc., was engaged throughout the community, building or upgrading community gardens to provide fresh fruit and vegetables for those in need. In 2023, we have major plans to continue cultivating the community we deserve!
Ms. (Jackson) Doss was born and raised in the city of Niagara
Falls, NY. One of ten children, her parents Reverends Rich and
Margaret Jackson planted the seed that, “through God all
things are possible.” She graduated from Niagara Falls High
School, June 1976, in December of 1976, she joined the United
States Army Reserves. Arlene graduated from Erie County
Community College (ECCC) with a degree in Mental
Health/Substance Counseling. After graduating from ECCC, she
attended Niagara University, Niagara University, NY and
obtained her bachelors degree in Social Work.
In 2005, Ms. Doss was called to active duty to serve her second
tour in Iraq. Following her second deployment MSG Doss was
requested to remain on active duty to aid with the training of
military units rotating throughout areas of the
operations. After serving three years a Fort McCoy, Wisconsin
MSG Doss was assigned to the Europe Regional Medical
Command G/3 Operations in Heidelburg, Germany. While in
stationed in Europe, MSG Doss continued her education
receiving a masters degree in Business Administration and a
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification. After serving 38 years in
the military and five years as a civil servant, Arlene retired from
civil service and returned home to Niagara Falls.
While growing up in the city of Niagara Falls, Ms. Doss always
had opportunities as a youth that enhanced her quality of life.
The neighborhood community center afforded the youth in the
area to engage in many after school activities such as cooking
and sewing lessons, one of the best bands and drill team of
Western New York was developed within that community
center. Ms. Doss participated in Brownies and Girl Scouts, team
games, reading and math programs that assisted with
improving the children’s education in the community.
One year after returning home she decided to support the
community using the military motto of selfless service and
founded Niagara United Vision, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) Community
Development non-for-profit organization that serves
communities in Niagara Falls.
Food justice is an important part of community justice. We take donations from local businesses and use them to fight hunger while also using our hands to plant free fruit & vegetables for our reisdents. Help us connect with donors and with people in need.
Our community is full of people who want to help. We work to help the people providing services with the people who need them. Come connect with people in new ways. We believe Niagara Falls needs more resources and we stand on the frontlines to make sure the wishes of our community come into fruition.
We are very passionate about the education and advancement of the children of Niagara Falls. Unfortunately, some of our brightest scholars are not afforded the opportunities of post- secondary education without walking out in tremendous debt! Please support our mission to fund the education of our future!
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions in our city. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
Thank you Lowe's donating soil for our vegetable garden!
